The Green City R-1 Selection Committee invites you to nominate candidates for the Green City R-1 Distinguished Alumni Award. This award honors and recognizes alumni who exemplify the values, the traditions, and the success of Green City R-1. Their accomplishments will inspire and encourage Green City R-1 students to do the same.
The new inductee(s) to the Green City R-1 Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame will be recognized at the Homecoming Game each year. The inductee(s) will also be given the opportunity to speak with current students and share with them their path to their successful life.
Eligibility Requirements

The nominee must be a graduate of Green City R-1 High School.

A period of 10 years must have elapsed between graduation and nomination for induction.

Posthumous nominees will be accepted.

The nominee must display excellence in one of the following areas.
-
Exemplary achievement in the nominee’s area of specialization;

Received recognition, honors, and awards on the local, regional, or international levels;

Demonstrated service in the community in which he/she lives
-

A personal statement of 250 words or less by the nominator illuminating the nominee’s impact and contribution that warrant the nominee’s selection to the Hall of Fame.

Any supporting materials, such as newspaper articles, stories, letters of recommendation, etc. should be submitted with the nomination form.

A committee will review the nominations and select 1 to 3 honorees each year.

Nominations will be kept on file for 3 years from the date received

Deadline for nomination is December 1 of each year.
